Claremont, Los Angeles County
Claremont is nicknamed the City of Trees and PhDs. Its downtown, known as the Village, is a compact grid of shops and restaurants beside the railroad depot, which now serves commuter trains. At the north end of town, the California Botanic Garden displays native plants from across the state on 86 acres at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains.
